Question
A die is thrown, find the probability of getting:
A prime number.
✓
Answer
$\because$ A die is thrown
$\therefore\text{n}\text{(s)} = 6$
Let E be the event of getting prime number
$\therefore\text{E} = {2, 3, 5}$
$\text{N}\text{(E)} = 3$
$\therefore\text{p}\text{(E)}=\frac{\text{n(E)}}{\text{n(S)}}=\frac{3}{6}=\frac{1}{2}$
$\therefore\text {p}\text{(E)}=\frac{1}{2}$
