Accounting software are catagorised as of three types: $(A)$ Readymade software $(B)$ Customised software and $(C)$ Tailor-made software $(A)$ Readymade Software : This type of software is developed for need of users in general.As such, software is developed keeping in mind users in general it may have many featureswhich may not be useful to all users. At the same time, it is also possible that it may nothave features or utility which a particular customer needs. Few examples of such type of software are Tally, Tata Ex, Busy, Professional Accountant, Profit etc. $(B)$ Customised software: When readymade software is modified according to the need ofthe customer, it is called customised software and it provides ease to customer. For example,design of invoice is modified according to need of customer. $(C)$ Tailor-made Software: Some customers get account software developed completely asper their need. They are not readily available in the market. Such software is designed anddeveloped after detailed discussions and deliberations with the customer and afterunderstanding the need of customer such software is designed keeping in mind requirements of the customers. Customers get all information, facilities and statements as required usingsuch software.
