Answer

The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005(NREGA), now known as Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, (MNREGA) was passed by the government in the Parliament to generate employment for those in need of jobs in rural areas.
It promises 100 days of guaranteed wage employment to all adult members of rural households who volunteer to do unskilled manual work.
