  • Basic or key industries which supply their products or raw materials to manufacture other goods e.g. iron and steel and coppers melting, aluminium smelting.
  • Consumer industries that produce goods for direct use by consumers– Sugar, toothpaste, paper, sewing machines, fans etc.
