Convert $149^{\circ} F$ into (a)${ }^{\circ} C$, (b) Kelvin

(a) Temperature in Celsius scale, C = 5/9 (F-32)
were F → Temperature in Fahrenheit scale
Temperature in Celsius scale, C = 5/9 (149-32)
$
\Rightarrow C=5 / 9(117)
$
$
\Rightarrow C=65^{\circ} C
$
Hence, $149^{\circ} F =65^{\circ}$
(b) Conversion of $149^{\circ} F$ into Kelvin:
From (a) $149^{\circ} F =65^{\circ} C$
Temperature in Kalvin $=$ Temperature in ${ }^{\circ} C +273$
= 65+273
= 338 K
Hence, $149^{\circ} F =338 K$
