A relation R on a set A is said to be transitive if
$(\text{a, b})\in\text{R}$ and $(\text{b, c})\in\text{R}$
$\Rightarrow\ (\text{a, c})\in\text{R}$ for all $\text{a, b, c}\in\text{R}$
i.e., aRb and bRc
⇒ aRc for all $\text{a, b, c}\in\text{R}$
