(a) Biotic resources are substances obtained from living beings. They include the living components of an ecosystem e.g. vegetation, birds, domestic animals and wildlife.
(b) Abiotic resources are non-living things. They include air, water, land or soil, rocks and minerals in the Earth's crust.
