Amanda is upset because of her mother's constant nagging. She starts getting irritated and ignores her instructions which her mother has considered to be sulky and moody. She wants a little freedom which she doesn't get so she starts assuming her as a mermaid or an orphan or Rapunzel, a princess to live in her own dream world. She is not at all sulky or moody but a normal teenage girl who has her ways to live and enjoy.
