According to Satyajit Ray, a number of films produced in India have certain weaknesses. The producers and directors try to imitate successful Hollywood films. They do not give an essay dramatic pattern to a story. They depict melodrama. Their stories are more or less unrealistic. They do not have honesty, imagination and technical competence. The background music and songs of our films are often based on western music. These are some of the weaknesses of Indian films.
