Here $\mathop {\lim }\limits_{x \to - 1} \frac{{{x^{10}} + {x^5} + 1}}{{x - 1}}$
$ = \frac{{{{( - 1)}^{10}} + {{( - 1)}^5} + 1}}{{ - 1 - 1}} = \frac{{1 - 1 + 1}}{{ - 2}} = \frac{{ - 1}}{2}$
