Question
Evaluate the following:
$(10.4)^3$

Answer

We know that $(a+b)^3=a^3+b^3+3 a b(a+b)$ $\Rightarrow(10.4)^3$ can be written as $(10+0.4)^3$
Here, $a=10$ and $b=0.4$
$(10.4)^3=(10+0.4)^3$
$=(10)^3+(0.4)^3+3(10)(0.4)(10+0.4)$
$=1000+0.064+(12 \times 10.4)$
$=1000+0.064+124.8$
$=1000+124.864$
$=1124.864$
The value of $(10.4)^3=1124.864$
