Question
Explain briefly about maximum and minimum recruitment.

Answer

$1.$ Maximum: Every Poonam and Amas the Sun, Earth and Moon come in a straight line.
  • So the gravitational pull of the sun as well as the moon produces larger waves of ocean water.
  • So comes the big tide.
  • This tide is called the greatest tide.
$2.$ Minimum tide: On the seventh or eighth day of the lunar month, the moon comes at right angles with the sun and the earth and therefore its gravitational effect is less.
  • This makes the waves bounce less.
  • The smaller the tide, the lower the tide.
  • Most beaches have two tides and two tides each day. This is called half-day recruitment.
  • The tides come once a day to the Gulf of Mexico and the coast of Western Australia.
