The Indian Constitution has accepted the principle of judicial review from the American Constitution. The Supreme Court and the High Courts are empowered to ascertain /review consti-tutionality of any law, executive action, constitutional amendment and judicial decision. If any of these is not in conformity with the constitution, the court declares it as unconstitutional.
