Answer
Land resources are natural resources.
This resource is mostly used for agriculture.
It is also used by humans to build dwellings, transportation routes, industries, orchards, and reservoirs.
Sustainable farming practices developed in the fertile land area, resulting in the establishment of rural settlements.
Land resources have played an important role in human development.
Over time, land resources have also become a problem.
Problems with land resources:
1. Decrease in the cultivable land:
Due to urbanization, industrialization, railways, roads, etc., the cultivable land is declining every year.
2. Salinity due to over-irrigation:
All three seasons of crops are harvested as irrigation facilities increase. Excessive irrigation is increasing the salinity of the soil, thus reducing its fertility.
3. Soil Erosion:
Excessive rainfall, declining forest cover, etc. wash away the fertile topsoil.
The land becomes unusable.
4. Deforestation:
Forest areas are declining due to urbanization, industrialization, airports in the forest areas, increasing different types of pollution etc.
As a result the amount of rainfall decreases.
Soil erosion increases.
The amount of forest is also declining due to zoom type farming, so the quality of the land is declining.
5. Jhoom Cultivation:
Due to the increase in irrigation, investment, modern machinery for farming, all the three seasons are harvested. As a result soil fertility is declining.
6. Intensive Cultivation:
Crops of the all three season are taken where there are facilities of irrigation for cultivation, capital investment and modern mechanization. This also reduces the fertility of soil.
