Question
Explain how can we purify the impure metals?

Answer

By an electrolysis process, we use a thick rod of impure metal as anode and thin strip of pure metal as cathode. A water soluble salt of the metal is taken as electrolyte. On passing electric current, the metal dissolves from the impure anode and goes into electrolyte solution which is then deposited on the cathode in pure form.
