Explain how intergroup contact is useful in reducing bias.

Prejudices become group-wide rather than person-to-person. In such a situation the interaction between the two opposing groups decreases and prejudices become more entrenched.
In order to reduce the prejudices against people of two groups, communities, religions, castes, regions, countries or languages, their mutual group contacts should be increased.
Efforts and activities should be planned for mutual interaction and interaction between them.
Prejudices can be removed if knowledge and information are obtained from experiences which give birth to constructive feelings instead of antagonistic feelings towards each other.
Prejudices can be automatically reduced by contact between two opposing groups if there are constructive experiences of faith instead of doubt, trustworthy human relationships instead of fear and security as well as expressions of love instead of hatred.
