In India, Adivasi communities are portrayed in very stereotypical ways. They are shown in colourful costumes, headgears and through their dancing, etc. There is very limited information about the realities of the lives of Adivasis due to which people believed that they are exotic, primitive and backward.
Adivasis are criticised for their lack of advancement as they are believed to be resistant to change or new ideas.
