Relationship between political parties and pressure groups can take different forms:
  1. Pressure groups are led or formed by leaders of political parties.
  2. They act as extended arms of political parties.
  3. Sometimes political parties grow out of movement. Eg.: DMK, AGP etc.
  4. In many cases, the relationship between political parties and interest groups is not so direct.
  5. Sometimes they are opposed to each other, yet they are in negotiation, dialogue and discussion.
