Question
Explain the causes of Biodiversity loss?

Answer

Following are the reasons that farm biodiversity :
1. Destruction of habitats and fragmentation : Habitats of organisms are destroyed due to many activities of human, some of them are :
(i) Developmental activities : Natural habitats have decrease due to building, construction, air drops, buoy construction agricultural (and, industries, mines, railways etc.)
(ii) Deforestation : Reduction in forests, wild animals are facing problems of food and shelter.
(iii) Pollution : Pollution has contaminated many residences.
(iv) Cleanliness : Human cleanliness practices have remarkably destroyed the habitats of natural scavengers such as vultures, eagles, and crows. These scavengers feed on dead organisms. Instead of leaving dead organisms in the open, they are now burned or buried, causing these scavengers to suffer from hunger.
2. Over-exploitation : Man’s need has started turning into greed, due to over-exploitation of natural resources, many species (sea-cow.) become extinct.
3. Hunting : For food, business and entertainment, human’s excessive hunting is feelining the species drastically.
4. Forest Fire : Fires in forests caused by human activities, mistakes, or natural reasons severely devastate the forests, leading to the extinction of both animal and plant species.
5. Invasion of alien species : When alien species are introduced intentionally/unintentionally, some of them become invasive and cause extinction of nature species.
