Kurt Lewin differentiates between the psychological environment and the physical environment. The
concept of life space given by him explains the nature of relationship between the person and environment. According to him, life space is the whole psychological reality which determines the behaviour  of the individual. Life space includes everything present in the environment that influences individual's behaviour. Environment (E) means everything including physical, psychological and social aspects surrounding the individual. Lewin calls the person (P) in the environment (E) as life space.
