Question
Explain the effect of increasing the temperature of a liquid, on intermolecular forces operating between its particles, what will happen to the viscosity of a liquid if its temperature is increased?

Answer

If the temperature is increased, the intermolecular forces become weak and kinetic energy increases. As the temperature increases the kinetic energy can overcome intermolecular forces, hence viscosity decreases and liquids can flow easily.
