Explain the electoral system in India.

The Electoral system in India is borrowed from the one operating systems in Great Britain.
The constitution (Article 324) provides for an independent Election Commission in order to ensure free and fair elections in the country.
Parliament may make provisions with respect to all matters relating to the election in the Parliament and the State Legislative.
The State Legislative can also make provisions with respect to all matters relating to elections to the State Legislative. But they can only supplement the parliamentary law.
