Explain the meaning of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Give two examples of STDs each, caused due to,

Sexually Transmitted Diseases are the diseases which are spread through sexual act. Through bacterial infection the diseases spread are: Syphilis and Gonorrhea. Diseases spread through viral infections are: Warts and HIV-AIDS.The diseases can be prevented by 3 ways:
  1. Barrier Method: In this method, physical devices such as condom, diaphragm, cervical cap and copper T are used.
  2. Chemical method: Use of spermicidal jelly by woman, oral pills and vaginal pills. Oral pills are also called Oral Contraceptives.
  3. Surgical method: In this method, a small portion of Vas Deferens in male and Fallopian Tube in female, is surgically removed or ligated (tied). In males it is called Vasectomy and in females it is known as Tubectomy.
