Stupa means small dome shaped (oval) architecture. The relics of Buddha were buried in the middle of Stupa. Buddhist monks meditated at this place. Chaityas means prayer halls. Chaityas were carved in mountains as caves. In Chaityas, the columns. doors, huge prayer hall, etc. were carved in the caves. Chaityas were used as ‘prayer hall’.
