Question
Explain the principle of floating and sinking in water with example.

Answer

Floating or sinking of objects in water depends on density. If objects such as wood, plastic etc. have less density than water then these objects will float on the surface of water. If the density is more, such as iron or stone, then it sinks. Example-Soap dish floats due to low density, whereas soap sinks due to high density.
