Public Distribution System: To avail food items and other products at fair price to the common consumers. For this, the government has arranged Public Distribution System. In this the government tries to deliver some products specially food items to poor consumers through fair price shops or ration shops. This helps in achieving of the target of food security scheme. This work is done by the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Department of Consumer Affairs.
The distribution of essential things like wheat, rice, sugar and kerosene oil is done on a regular monthly basis through the fair price shops. Presently in all the fair price shops of all the districts in the state, distribution of Ration goods to the consumers is being done after biometric verification by Point of Sale9- (POS) machines which ensures that things reach the targeted beneficiaries.
