Explain the significance of endosperm.

Endosperm is a triploid (3n) tissue formed from primary endosperm nucleus as a result of triple fusion. As it contains chromosomes of both parents it represents hybrid vigour.
Endosperm is a nutritive tissue providing nutrition to developing embryo.
