Explain the significance of triple fusion.

Answer

Triple fusion is so called as it involves fusion of three nuclei i.e. one nucleus of male gamete and two nuclei of central cell so that primary endosperm nucleus (3n) is formed which develops into endosperm.
Endosperm is nourishment providing tissue which provides nutrition to developing embryo. In abence of endosperm, embryo will die.
