Question
Explain the space left around in a commercial letter.

Answer

  • Margin: Leaving evenly spaced space in the paper gives the letter a beautiful look.
  • The left margin is kept relatively wide on the right side while the margin is kept on the left and right side.
  • Normally, the right edge is 1”and the left edge is 1.5 inches.
  • Commercial letters have to be filed and saved.
  • It is convenient to have more space on the left side as you have to make holes on the left side.
  • In the same way the amount of space left above and below the paper is also proportional to the left and right margins.
  • A little more space is left compared to the notch at the top.
  • If 1 inch space is left towards the bottom then 1.5 inch space is left above.
  • Also, some letter writers prefer to leave the same amount of space up-and-down.
