Explain what is meant by
  1. a peptide linkage
  2. a glycosidic linkage.

1. Peptide linkage:
Polymers of x – amino acids are connected to each other by peptide bond or peptide linkage. Chemically peptide linkage is an amide formed between – COOH group and $NH_2$ group.
2. Glycosidic linkage:
The two monosaccharide units are joined together by an oxide linkage formed by the loss of a water molecule. Such a linkage between two mono saecharide units through oxygen atom is called glycosidic linkage.
