Explain with the help of an example, the feed-back inhibition in an enzyme.

Feed-back inhibition: It is called Reversible inhibition. The end products accumulate in the cell after their enzymatic action and these inhibit their own production. It is called allosteric modulation or negative feedback. So the inhibition is due to the production of the reaction. It is the regulation of the metabolic activity by stopping the excess formation of the product. It binds to some other site except the active site. Inhibitor shows no resemblance to the substrate and is a product of a metabolic pathway. Accumulation of glucose-6-phosphate inhibits the activity of hexokinase enzyme in glycolysis:
