Given : Frequency of the wave, $v=150 \mathrm{\,Hz}$

From the figure

$\frac{5}{2}\lambda  = 20\,\,cm$

$\therefore $ Wavelength of the wave, $\lambda=\frac{40}{5} \mathrm{\,cm}=8 \mathrm{\,cm}$

$=8 \times 10^{-2} \mathrm{\,cm}=0.08 \mathrm{\,m}$

Velocity of the wave $v=v \lambda$

$=\left(150 \,s^{-1}\right)\left(8 \times 10^{-2} \mathrm{\,m}\right)=12 \mathrm{\,ms}^{-1}$

A vibrating string of certain length $l$ under a tension $T$ reasonates with a mode corresponding to the first overtone (third harmonic) of an air column of length $75$ $cm$ inside a tube closed at one end. The string also generates $4$ beats per second when excited along with a tuning fork of frequency $n$. Now when the tension of the string is slightly increased the number of beats reduces to $2$ per second. Assuming the velocity of sound in air to be $340$ $m/s$, the frequency $n$ of the tuning fork in $Hz $ is

A tuning fork is used to produce resonance in a glass tube. The length of the air column in this tube can be adjusted by a variable piston. At room temperature of $27\,^o C$ two successive resonances are produced at $20\, cm$ and $73\, cm$ of column length.
