First term $(a)=1$
Common difference (d) = second term first term
$=4-1$

$n ^{\text {th }}$ term in an A.P. $= a +( n - a ) d$
$10^{\text {th }}$ term in an $1+(10-1) 3$
$=1+9 \times 3$
$=1+27$
$=28$
