Question
Find the area, in square centimeters, of a square whose side is: $1.2\ dm$
✓
Answer
We have,
Side of the square $=1.2 \mathrm{dm}=1.2 \times 10 \mathrm{~cm}=12 \mathrm{~cm}$
Therefore, area of the square $=(\text { Side })^2=(12 \mathrm{~cm})^2=144 \mathrm{~cm}^2$
(Since $1 \mathrm{dm}=10 \mathrm{~cm}$ )
