Find the sum: $4\frac{3}{4}+9\frac{2}{5}$

Answer

We have, $4\frac{3}{4}+9\frac{2}{5}$
$=\frac{19}{4}+\frac{47}{5}$
Taking out the $LCM$ of $4$ and $5$, we get $4 \times 5 = 20$
Now, we convert the given fractions to equivalent fractions by making the denominators $20$ $=\frac{19\times5}{4\times5}+\frac{47\times4}{5\times4}$
$=\frac{95}{20}+\frac{188}{20}$
$=\frac{95+188}{20}$
$=\frac{283}{20}$
