Each antibody class is distinguished by certain effector functions and structural features including a unique heavy (H) chain isotype, designated $\alpha (\text{IgA)},\delta (\text{IgD}),\in(\text{IgE}),\gamma(\text{IgG}),\mu(\text{IgM}).$
