The temperature increases as we go deeper in the interior of the earth. Occasionally that thermal (heat) energy is reflected in the form of hot water streams on the surface of the earth. This heat energy can be used to generate power. Since several years geo-thermal energy in the form of hot water spring has been used by people for cooking, to get heat and to take bath.
The largest geo-thermal power plant of the world is located in $USA.$ Geo-thermal energy is used also in New Zealand, Iceland, Philippines Italy and Japan.
