They can survive on less water also. Medicine is made out of the bark of this tree. People cook its fruit and eat them. Its wood is such that no insects affect it. Animals living in this area eat the Khejadi leaves, and the children of this village like to play in the shade of Khejadi trees. About $300$ years ago, a woman named Amrita and about $100$ other villagers sacrificed their lives to save the Khejadi trees.
