Mughal paintings were famous in all over the world. Mughal rulers used to invite the best painters in their court. Painting was progressed in India from the time of Mughal emperor Babur.
The texts on painting named 'Gulshan Chitravali' and 'Hamzanama' were composed during Mughal rule. A gallery
was set up in Agra under the leadership of a great painter named Akariza.
Painters of this period have specially painted pictures of animals, birds and flowers.
Making of portraits started in the time of Mughal emperor Akbar, while special festivals and occasions were also
painted during the time of Jahangir.
