$1.$ Acetaldehyde : On passing acetylene through warm $40\% \ H_2SO_4$ in the presence of $1 \% \ H_gSO_4,$ vinyl alcohol is obtained which tautomerises and forms acetaldehyde. It is a hydration reaction.

$2.$ Acetone : On passing propyne through warm $40 \% \ H_2SO_4$ in the presence of $1 \% \ H_gSO_4,$ alkenol is obtained which on tautomerisation form acetone.
