In 1198, Muhammad Bakhtiyar Khalji, the general of Qutbuddin Aibak, conquered Bengal from King Lakshmandev.
  • He moved from Nadia, the capital of Bengal, to Gaud.
  • From 1345, the fragmented state of Bengal Sultanate became an independent state.
  • In 1410, the influence of a Brahmin king named Raja Ganesh on the ruler named Saifuddin increased and his power was established.
  • After this his son converted to Islam and ruled Bengal.
