Nobles gained control over the Mughals as later Mughal rulers were weak. Nobles were divided into the Iranis and Turanis, competing for power. These factions manipulated later Mughal emperors like puppets. The nobles' rivalry weakened the empire, leading to a series of assassinations and cruel acts against emperors.
Notably, Farrukh Siyar and Alamgir II were murdered, while Ahmad Shah and Shah Alam II were blinded by their own nobles. The nobles' influence and control over the Mughal emperors ultimately resulted in a state of turmoil and decline of the Mughal empire.
