How is tidal energy put to use?

Answer

(i) Tidal water from ocean, seas can be used to generate electricity.
(ii) During high tide, tidal water crosses floodgate and dams are built across inlets and gets trapped.
(iii) This water retained by the floodgate flows back to the sea via a pipe inside which the power-generating turbine is fitted.
