How will you detect that gram flour contains proteins?

Answer

Take a small quantity of gram flour in a test tube. Then add water to it and shake it properly. Add two drops of copper sulphate solution and ten drops of caustic soda solution to it. Shake the test tube well and let it stand for few minutes. The solution turns violet in some time. A violet colour indicates the presence of protein in gram flour.
