If $a = -8, b = -7, c = 6,$ verify that $(a + b) + c = a + (b + c).$

Answer

$(a + b) + c = (-8 + (-7)) + 6$
$= -15 + 6 = -9 a + (b + c)$
$= -8 + (-7 + 6)$
$= -13 + (-1)$
$= -9$
Hence, $(a + b) + c = a + (b + c) [$i.e., Property of Associativity$]$
