$\text{L.H.S}=\frac{1}{\text{a}^2-\text{b}^2}+\frac{1}{\text{b}^2}$
$=\frac{1}{\text{a}^2-\text{a}^2\text{r}^2}+\frac{1}{\text{a}^2\text{r}^2}$
$=\frac{1}{\text{a}^2}\Big[\frac{1}{1-\text{r}^2}+\frac{1}{\text{r}^2}\Big]$
