$\because\text{a }\Delta\text{ b}= \text{a}-\text{b}-(-5)$
$\therefore(-7)\ \Delta\ 3=(-7)-3-(-5)$
$= -7 - 3 + 5$
$= -(7 + 3) + 5$
$= -10 + 5$
$= -(10 - 5)$
$= -5$
$\therefore(-7)\ \Delta\ 3=(-7)-3-(-5)$
$= -7 - 3 + 5$
$= -(7 + 3) + 5$
$= -10 + 5$
$= -(10 - 5)$
$= -5$
