$\Rightarrow|\vec{\text{a}}|^2+2\vec{\text{a}}.\vec{\text{b}}=0\dots(1)$
Now,
$\big(\vec{\text{a}}+2\vec{\text{b}}\big).\vec{\text{a}}$
$\vec{\text{a}}.\vec{\text{a}}+2\vec{\text{b}}.\vec{\text{a}}$
$=|\vec{\text{a}}|^2+2\vec{\text{a}}.\vec{\text{b}}$
