Question
India - A Democratic Nation
[Points: definition - popularity - how it functions - self reliance - its negative side]

Answer

Democracy has been well defined as the Government of the people, for the people and by the people'. India, our country, is a Democratic Nation. Democracy is found in real sense in India. It is the most effective and popular form of government. It is a system that has become more popular and acceptable.

In a democratic government, all the decisions are taken by the people's representatives. The decisions are mostly in the interest of people and the prosperity of a country. The country is self reliant in matters of food and other needs. We don't need to import edible oil or food-grains from other countries now. We have exported some grains nowadays. We have green revolution as well as white revolution by producing many milk products. The present age is also called the age of IT revolution. We have also made progress in space exploration. The Information Technology revolution has changed the face of the whole country. We are one of the leading developing nations.

But the way to success is not always smooth and easy. Every coin has two sides. Even today India is suffering from many socio-economic problems. These problems are poverty, illiteracy, over population, corruption etc. Communal harmony is also lacking, illiteracy comes from over population which interrupts the progress of nation and leads it to poverty. Let's unite together to fight against this misfortune of our country to make it the strong nation.
