  3. India is sovereign, as it is independent of any forgein control. It is socialist as it aims at social and economic equality.
  4. It is secular as there is no state religion of India. It is democratic, as the government is elected by the people directly after five years.
  5. It is a Republic because the head of the state is also elected for fixed term of five years by the merrbers of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
